NZ Household Greenhouse Gas Emissions Increase by 11.8 per cent

As per the Stats NZ, between 2007 and 2018, direct greenhouse gas emissions from NZ households increased by 11.8 per cent (over one megatonne).

Environmental-economic accounts manager Stephen Oakley said NZ household contributed 12 per cent of New Zealand’s total emissions in 2018. The number is reaching near to the manufacturing industries’ contribution of 13.2 per cent to emissions.

Household emissions increase a bit faster than the increase in the number of households as it was up by 11.0 per cent over the same period.
