Issues identified with the Mask quality

The Health Ministry of NZ has recognised possible concerns with the quality of masks purchased from outside the country to ensure kiwis' supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) as a response to the pandemic.

There are about 4.9 million masks which are found with inconsistent label and certification. There circulation has been put on hold till further quality check.

In March 2020, due to the pressure on global supply lines, PPE's were quickly purchased often from different sources. The county now has enough PPE, including masks for kiwis.
