Highlights

  • MAX Power identifies large hydrogen anomalies in southeast Saskatchewan, with values up to 914 ppm hydrogen.
  • Hydrogen Fairways identified, and Rider Project permit applications are approved.
  • Company on track to drill for Natural Hydrogen in Canada during Q1 2025.

MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) is excited to announce significant progress toward the first drilling campaign for Natural Hydrogen (NOH) in Canada. The Company has made rapid strides in advancing its project pipeline, which includes some of the country’s most promising hydrogen targets. These targets, primarily located in Saskatchewan, are approaching the drill-ready stage, setting the stage for a potentially groundbreaking discovery in 2025.

Exciting Findings in Southeast Saskatchewan
MAX Power's regional geochemical soil gas survey in southeast Saskatchewan has yielded exceptional results, revealing large hydrogen anomalies in the area. Notably, some readings show hydrogen concentrations as high as 914 ppm, which are among the highest recorded in the region. The data from this survey, combined with hyperspectral readings, strongly supports MAX Power’s hydrogen formation and accumulation model for southern Saskatchewan.

This evidence points to the likely presence of natural hydrogen reservoirs, particularly at the Rider Project, where permit applications for extensive land areas have already been approved. Additional permits are expected in the near future, further expanding the Company’s exploration capabilities.

Hydrogen Fairways Identified
Alongside the Rider Project, MAX Power’s geological team has also delineated several key "Hydrogen Fairways" in Saskatchewan over the past few months. These fairways, identified through advanced geophysical techniques, are believed to host substantial quantities of Natural Hydrogen, further enhancing the region’s attractiveness as a hub for hydrogen exploration. MAX Power is set to provide more details about these findings early in the New Year.

CEO's Comment on Strategic Focus
Mr. Mansoor Jan, CEO of MAX Power, expressed confidence in the Company’s strategic direction, stating, “We are on track to become the first company to drill specifically for Natural Hydrogen in Canada during Q1 2025, further building on our first-mover advantage.” He emphasized that Saskatchewan’s advanced provincial policy framework makes it the best location in Canada for the discovery of commercial concentrations of Natural Hydrogen, a low-cost and low-emissions energy source with the potential to revolutionize the energy sector.

“By drilling for hydrogen, we can tap into a crucial alternative energy source that lies right beneath our feet. This could reshape energy production in North America at a time when energy security and affordability are critical issues for governments in Ottawa and Washington,” Mr. Jan added.

Gas-in-Soil Study Results
MAX Power’s soil gas sampling program, conducted in partnership with Petro-Find, a leader in soil gas analysis in Western Canada, has provided highly accurate hydrogen readings. The survey used specialized gas probes driven into the soil profile, with the primary goal of testing the geological model created by MAX Power. The results support the hypothesis that southeast Saskatchewan holds the potential for commercial concentrations of Natural Hydrogen.

The study identified five key factors required for the pooling and concentration of Natural Hydrogen: the right source rocks, migratory pathways, traps, reservoirs, and seals. According to the Company, these factors are all present at the Rider Project, increasing the likelihood of significant hydrogen accumulations at depth. This marks an important step in the Company’s pursuit of Canada’s first commercial Natural Hydrogen discovery.

Looking Ahead to 2025
As the company wraps up an exciting 2024, MAX Power is poised for a transformational 2025. The drilling program in Saskatchewan is set to begin in Q1 2025, and the Company’s growing pipeline of promising hydrogen targets positions it to take a leadership role in the development of Natural Hydrogen resources in North America.
