The S&P/TSX Composite Index slipped in red territory after two straight days of winning streaks, slipping 0.47% or 86.65 points to 18,330.09 on Tuesday. Other indices also moved lower, with the S&P/TSX 60 down 0.33% to 1,090.58, the S&P/TSX MidCap slumping 0.97% to 1,128.48 and the S&P/TSX SmallCap slipping 1.03% to 726.67.
The S&P/TSX Venture Index plummeted 4% on Tuesday.

Thomson Reuters Corp, Equitable Group Inc, and Enerplus Corp were among the top movers on the S&P/TSX Composite Index, with shares moved 10.8%, 10.6% and 3.9% respectively. On the other side, Lightspeed POS Inc, Trillium Therapeutics Inc and Aphria Inc were majors losers on TSX Composite Index, and declined -7.7%, -7.1% and -6.9% respectively.
On Wall Street: All three major indices of the United States traded in mix with the S&P 500 traded 0.13% higher at 3,881.37, the Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 0.50% to 13,465.20, and the Dow Jones Industrials moved slightly higher by 0.05% to 31,537.35.
Commodity Update*
Crude WTI traded 0.29% higher on Tuesday at $61.67/bbl and Brent Oil traded 0.20% lower at $65.37/bbl.
Gold futures also moved slightly lower on Tuesday, down 0.14% to $1,805.90/oz.
Crude Oil prices surged 1.26% higher at 1.247%.
