Where Has the Global COVID-19 cases TALLY Reached and why is India the top contributor?

Since the COVID-19 virus wreaked havoc on people's lives all over the world, nations have been struggling to fight infections that keep resurfacing due to mutations. Over 150 million COVID-19 cases have been recorded to date with the death toll crossing the 3 million mark worldwide. Infections have overrun hospitals, morgues, and crematoriums, leaving families desperate for limited drugs and oxygen. Despite the fact that India is the world's largest manufacturer of COVID-19 vaccines, shortages of the shots in some states prevented all adults from receiving vaccinations.

the situation remains grim in India. India has started with its third phase of vaccinating people in the age group of 18-44 years. The Health Ministry of India statistics says that over 156 million vaccinations have been done in the country as of 2 May. However, the country faces acute shortages of vaccine supplies and plans to increase vaccine production and availability in the coming months.
