The ACCC has started a self-initiated assessment of the chicken meat industry in Australia. The review would be done till December 2020 and shall focus on the commercial relationship amongst growers and processors. After the assessment is completed, the ACCC would publish a report that will define competition or consumer concerns present in the industry and consider the options available to address the identified issues.
In order to contain the coronavirus pandemic, the global mobility restrictions imposed by almost every country has severely dented the airline industry. US EIA recently reported that the daily average flight counts fell below 25,000 levels in April from 70,000 in January. Although repatriation flights and easing of travel restrictions has seen the conditions improve since may and continues to grow thereafter. In sync to the flight count, the commercial jet fuel consumption decreased from 4.3 million barrels to just 1 mbpd by April. A strong growth has been observed from the resumption of the domestic travel in various geographies and the commencement of repatriation flights.
Uniti Group Limited (ASX:UWL) revealed that the Federal Court has approved the despatch of the explanatory statement (Scheme Booklet) regarding the proposed acquisition of OptiComm by Uniti, announced on 15 June 2020.
This Scheme Booklet has also been registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and filed with the ASX.
Moreover, the Federal Court has ordered that a virtual meeting of OptiComm shareholders be organised on 10 September 2020 (AEST 11:00 am).
