Early drilling continuous gold mineralisation
Strong intercepts recorded across multiple drill lines
Caladan Prospect emerging as key exploration focus
Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) has uncovered early signs of a substantial gold-bearing structure at the Arrakis Prospect, part of the larger Caladan target area within its Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia. Results from the company's latest air-core (AC) drilling program point to a continuous mineralised zone stretching over a significant strike length.
The exploration campaign, which is nearing completion, has returned multiple encouraging intercepts from widely spaced drill lines. These results are viewed as a strong indication of a coherent mineralised system beneath surface-level regolith, helping shape the geological understanding of the broader Caladan area.
Early Drilling Reveals Strong Continuity
Initial assays from the large-scale program have revealed encouraging gold intercepts, demonstrating strong continuity across an 800-metre strike. The drilling was conducted on three separate lines spaced 400 metres apart, each confirming the presence of mineralisation.
These outcomes mark a significant development, particularly for a first-pass program, as they highlight the consistency and strength of the gold zones encountered. The findings also indicate that the Arrakis Prospect could represent a structurally controlled system with the for further extensions.
Caladan Target Area Gaining Momentum
The Caladan target area, which houses the Arrakis Prospect, has become a central exploration focus for Yandal Resources. The region is part of the company’s broader Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project, situated in a geologically favourable part of Western Australia known for its resource.
Targeting large regolith anomalies has proven effective in this campaign, with the drilling strategy uncovering areas of interest that may have been overlooked in earlier mapping efforts. These large-scale anomalies often point to significant underlying mineral systems, and the early results at Caladan appear to support this approach.
Strengthening the Exploration Outlook
The recent drilling success reinforces Yandal Resources' growing confidence in the geological of the Caladan area. As the campaign moves closer to completion, attention will remain on follow-up assays that may further extend the known mineralised zones.
The scale and consistency of the current results that Arrakis could become a key component of future exploration activities across the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Project. With continued positive developments, the region may offer a broader for long-term project expansion.
This early-stage success is a notable achievement in Yandal’s exploration journey, highlighting the company's strategic direction and the prospectivity of its tenement package.
