Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI) has announced promising drill results from its exploration efforts at the Argo and Bokoro areas of the Bankan Gold Project in Guinea, which boasts a substantial 5.38-million-ounce gold resource. A total of 458 holes were drilled, covering 28,388 metres, as part of the company’s strategic plan to maintain a robust pipeline of exploration targets. The focus is now on establishing a maiden mineral resource estimate at the Sounsoun target within the Argo permit.
Key highlights from the drilling at Sounsoun include the identification of an east-west trending shear zone that has been mineralised over a distance of at least 700 metres. Notable results from this zone comprise 4.05 metres at 11.44 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 103 metres, 11 metres at 1.42 g/t from 74 metres, and 9 metres at 1.46 g/t from 50 metres.
The exploration drilling has yielded positive results from other targets within Argo as well. At the Somo target, multiple mineralised zones in saprolite were discovered, with the standout intercept being 12 metres at 4.82 g/t gold from 10 metres. Further exploration at Sedadiou revealed a new mineralised zone, potentially an extension of the Sinkoumba trend, featuring intersections of 6 metres at 2.16 g/t from 60 metres and 4 metres at 2.13 g/t from 72 metres. Additionally, at Sinkoumba, an up-dip intercept of 5 metres at 5.55 g/t confirmed a steeply dipping mineralised zone.
The Bokoro area, located south of Argo, also returned encouraging results from first-pass aircore drilling. Notable intersections included 10 metres at 3.33 g/t from 24 metres and 2 metres at 7.41 g/t from 34 metres.
Andrew Pardey, managing director of Predictive Discovery, expressed optimism regarding the initial resource definition drilling at Sounsoun, which recorded positive intercepts and delineated a shear zone hosting mineralisation over a considerable strike length.
“Additional results are due imminently from Sounsoun. Resource definition drilling is also underway at the Fouwagbe target, and results from this program are eagerly anticipated,” Pardey stated.
The Bankan Project presents excellent exploration potential, with a 35-kilometre major regional structure traversing the permits. Delivering maiden mineral resource estimates from these initial Argo targets is expected to serve as an important catalyst for the company, showcasing growth potential beyond the NEB and BC areas. The company is diligently advancing its pipeline of exploration targets, with recent positive results from the Somo, Sedadiou, and Sinkoumba targets, alongside promising outcomes from initial drilling on the Bokoro permit.
