Livium Ltd (ASX:LIT), a company focused on sustainable lithium production, has received A$1.7 million in research and development (R&D) tax incentive rebates from the Australian Tax Office for the 2024 financial year. These funds are allocated to three of its subsidiaries, reflecting Livium’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the lithium and battery technology sector.

The rebates include A$475,000 for Envirostream Australia Pty Ltd, A$437,000 for VSPC Pty Limited, and A$767,000 for LieNA Pty Limited. The final tranche of A$800,000 was received recently, marking the conclusion of the 2024 R&D rebate process.

The rebates linked to LieNA Pty Limited are tied to the joint development agreement with Mineral Resources Limited (ASX:MIN), showcasing a collaboration aimed at refining innovative lithium extraction techniques.

Livium’s transformation, formerly known as Lithium Australia, underscores its strategic positioning as a leader in sustainable lithium production. The company’s operations span battery recycling through its subsidiary Envirostream, production of lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) materials via VSPC, and patented lithium extraction technologies under LieNA.

These advancements align with the growing global demand for lithium-ion batteries, driven by the transition to renewable energy and electric vehicles. Livium’s recycling initiatives, coupled with its critical materials production, enhance supply chain diversification and reduce reliance on traditional lithium sources.

The company’s leadership in developing sustainable solutions places it at the forefront of the lithium and battery materials market, with significant opportunities to capitalize on the accelerating adoption of clean energy technologies.
