Highlights

  • Discovery of high-grade volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralisation at Henry's and Sugarloaf Hill prospects.
  • Strong assay values for silver, gold, and base metals documented in recent drilling.
  • Expanded mineralised area along an extensive strike with further drilling activities scheduled.

In the mining exploration sector, Argent Minerals (ASX:ARD) has advanced its work at the Kempfield project in New South Wales. The project area is recognised for its volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits that incorporate silver, gold, copper, lead, and zinc components. Recent exploration efforts are part of a broader industry movement to uncover and accurately detail multi-metallic deposits, further establishing the significance of the region within the mining community.

Discovery at Henry's Prospect

Recent drilling at the Henry's prospect has uncovered an extensive zone of high-grade volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralisation. The drilling campaigns have recorded intervals that exhibit notable silver grades alongside substantial quantities of copper, lead, and zinc. One drilling section registered a brief interval with elevated silver values and measurable proportions of base metals. Another longer interval revealed a series of layers with robust silver readings, including a sub-interval where the silver concentrations were accompanied by increased percentages of copper, lead, and zinc. In addition, a separate section noted the presence of gold, reflecting the multi-metallic nature of the deposit.

Drilling Findings at Sugarloaf Hill

At the Sugarloaf Hill prospect, drilling operations encountered a thick sequence of VMS-style mineralisation starting from near the surface. The assays have returned intervals with substantial silver content coupled with copper, lead, and zinc. One extended interval was encountered close to the surface, which stretches the known mineralised area along a broad strike. The assay results from Sugarloaf Hill contribute important details to the understanding of the geological framework within the Kempfield project area.

Upcoming Drilling Program

Further drilling activities are scheduled to advance the exploration efforts at Kempfield. The focus will be on extending the sulphide layers at deeper sections within the Henry's prospect and broadening the coverage at Sugarloaf Hill. These initiatives aim to provide a comprehensive map of the mineralised zones across the project area. The current drilling results have expanded the recognised mineralised footprint, and the forthcoming programs are designed to delineate the full scope of the deposit within the region.
