  • Expanded gold estimate strengthens project outlook
  • Focus on future drilling to improve resource category
  • Ongoing analysis of open-pit vs underground strategy

Rumble Resources (ASX:RTR) has announced an updated mineral resource estimate for its Western Queen gold project in Western Australia, marking a notable step forward for the company. The latest update incorporates data from recent reverse circulation and diamond drilling programs, expanding the project's overall gold resource and further reinforcing its development potential. While Rumble Resources is not among the ASX100 companies, updates like these highlight the activity in Australia's broader mining sector.

The drilling campaign primarily targeted new and extended zones of high-grade mineralisation at the Western Queen South and Princess deposits. The results led to a notable expansion of the inferred resource base. A significant upgrade was recorded at the Western Queen South area, now representing a larger portion of the overall resource estimate.

The enhanced grade and volume of gold reported in the latest estimate reflect the integration of recent drilling results and a new geological interpretation, which also considers underground mining potential. This dual-pathway evaluation—comparing open-pit and underground options—suggests flexibility in the development strategy, with resource quality and future drill success likely to play key roles in determining the path forward.

Work is also underway to improve the classification of current inferred resources. The company aims to convert a substantial part of this category into the higher-confidence indicated segment. This involves planned drilling campaigns, with upcoming aircore and reverse circulation work expected to begin early next year following heritage approvals.

The project’s location is a logistical advantage, situated within proximity of several gold processing facilities, enhancing potential development feasibility. Historical production from the Western Queen area adds further context, underlining the mineral-rich nature of the site.

As Rumble Resources continues to assess and advance the Western Queen project, the focus remains on geological refinement, resource optimisation, and strategic development. These updates underscore the ongoing exploration activity across Western Australia, with resource upgrades supporting forward-looking operational planning.
