Highlights
- Phase 2 drilling at Cognac West concludes with 19 new holes.
- Significant expansion of gold zones at Anomaly A and B.
- Assay results expected in July to guide future exploration.
Dynamic Metals (ASX:DYM) has successfully completed its Phase 2 reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Cognac West gold prospect, a key part of the company’s flagship Widgiemooltha Project in Western Australia. The campaign included 19 drill holes aimed at expanding the gold mineralisation footprint and refining the geological model at this high-potential site.
Advancing Exploration at a Promising Prospect
This second phase follows up on Phase 1, which had identified multiple broad and high-grade gold intercepts. The latest campaign targeted two key zones, Anomaly A and Anomaly B, building on earlier results and testing the potential for depth and lateral extensions of known gold-bearing quartz veins.
At Anomaly A, eight drill holes focused on the down-dip continuation of a gold-rich quartz vein previously mapped at surface. Historic peak assay values from this vein reached as high as 2,040g/t, with further intersections confirming a 220-metre trend of gold anomalism in fresh rock. New drilling now aims to test the western extent of this trend, with early signs suggesting it could be part of a larger mineral system.
Discoveries at Anomaly B Strengthen the Prospect
Anomaly B saw the completion of eleven new drill holes, particularly concentrated along its southernmost drill line. This area has shown a 100-metre-wide zone of gold anomalism, with notable intercepts including 44 metres at 0.33g/t and 24 metres at 0.33g/t gold in fresh rock. A standout result came from hole WDR041, which intersected 8 metres at 2.87g/t gold from 60 metres, including a higher-grade zone of 4 metres at 5.37g/t.
These findings indicate the presence of structurally repeated mineralised zones, supporting the potential for further exploration success.
Assay results from the Phase 2 drilling are anticipated in July and are expected to provide critical data for updating the geological model at Cognac West. In parallel, mineralogical studies are underway to enhance the understanding of the region's bedrock geology and broader gold system.
Located between Norseman and Kambalda, the Widgiemooltha Project is strategically positioned near established infrastructure and neighbouring million-ounce gold deposits. In addition to gold, Dynamic Metals is also exploring prospects for nickel, lithium, magnesite, and iron ore across its extensive portfolio. With an active exploration program underway in 2025, the company continues to make progress in unlocking value from its Western Australian assets.
