Highlights

  • Zenith Minerals (ASX:ZNC) reports a gold intercept from its Red Mountain project in north Queensland.
  • The company is applying for government funding to finance additional deep diamond drilling.
  • Metallurgical tests record high gold recovery rates using conventional cyanide leaching.

Recent drilling at the Red Mountain site has yielded a gold intercept measuring twenty‐three meters at a grade of one point four nine grams per tonne from a shallow depth of forty‐eight meters. This record stands as a key milestone in the exploration work being conducted in the region, which is known for its mineral deposits.

Geological Comparisons
The geological characteristics at the Red Mountain project bear resemblance to those observed at established operations such as Mt Wright and Mt Rawdon. These locations have historically produced notable amounts of gold. The similarities in the geological framework offer an opportunity for more detailed examination of the copper‐gold porphyry system present in the area.

Funding and Drilling Plans
Zenith Minerals (ASX:ZNC) is in the process of applying for a government grant of a quarter of a million dollars from the Queensland Government. The funding will support the execution of deep diamond drilling designed to delineate the extent of the mineralised zone beneath breccia formations. A pre-collar drilling phase has been completed, paving the way for the next stage of field operations and helping to refine the drilling strategy.

Metallurgical Findings
Preliminary metallurgical tests have recorded an average gold recovery rate of over eighty percent through conventional cyanide leaching. Samples with lower arsenic content have achieved even higher recovery figures. The outcomes from these tests are being incorporated into the processing strategy, ensuring that the extraction methodology is optimised for the ore characteristics observed at Red Mountain.

Exploration Strategy
The current fieldwork forms part of a broader exploration strategy that integrates drilling records, geochemical data, and ongoing assay outcomes. Each phase of the campaign builds upon the work previously completed, with systematic procedures in place to document and evaluate the mineralised system. The approach is aligned with the company’s operational framework in a region recognized for its extensive mineral occurrences.
