Pro Medicus (ASX:PME) has successfully signed a major 9-year contract with the University of Kentucky, valued at A$33 million, to implement its cutting-edge cloud-based Visage 7 Enterprise Imaging Platform. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the company, as it continues to expand its footprint in the North American healthcare sector.

The deal includes replacing the legacy Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and vendor-neutral archive systems within the university’s expansive healthcare network. Through this strategic move, Visage 7 will provide a unified and robust platform for diagnostic imaging throughout the University of Kentucky HealthCare system.

Visage 7's cloud-based platform is designed to offer exceptional efficiency, streamlining processes and delivering images directly to electronic health records (EHR). With the integration of Visage 7 Open Archive and Visage 7 Workflow modules, the contract promises to elevate the overall operational capabilities of UK HealthCare’s imaging services.

The deployment of Visage 7 at the University of Kentucky is slated for Q2 2025, following an immediate planning phase that will implement Pro Medicus' proven cloud-based system rollout process. This timeline aligns with Pro Medicus’ continued innovation in providing top-tier medical imaging solutions and aligns with its overall CloudPACS strategy.

The University of Kentucky HealthCare network, which is centered on the prestigious UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital, will be one of the key beneficiaries of this update. In addition to the hospital, UK HealthCare encompasses a range of specialized clinics and medical services, with an emphasis on cutting-edge research and education in partnership with the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

With this expansion, Pro Medicus strengthens its presence among North American academic medical centers. The company’s proprietary cloud-based technology is rapidly gaining traction as more institutions embrace the cost-effective and scalable solutions offered by cloud services. This new deal adds another high-profile name to the growing list of satisfied Visage 7 clients, many of whom are opting for fully integrated cloud solutions.

CEO Dr. Sam Hupert of Pro Medicus expressed optimism regarding the partnership, commenting, "This agreement is another step in our growth and showcases the ongoing trend of institutions selecting our complete platform: viewer, workflow, and archive. Our solutions are increasingly becoming the standard in North American healthcare IT."

As Pro Medicus continues to build on its success, the company looks poised to further cement its position as a leader in the global healthcare imaging sector.
