  • Robust financial health with zero debt and strategic global expansion initiatives.

Orthocell (ASX:OCC), a regenerative medicine company, achieved significant milestones in its financial performance, reporting a 30% revenue increase in the 2024 financial year. Annual revenue reached AUD 6.76 million, supported by strong growth in product sales, which climbed by 55% to AUD 3.01 million. Key contributors include the nerve repair device Remplir™ and the dental bone regeneration membrane Striate+™. Remplir™ has demonstrated superior clinical results, with functional recovery achieved in 85% of nerve repairs. Its innovative design enhances surgical efficiency, making it a preferred option in its category.

Financial Strength and Expansion Plans

Orthocell’s robust financial health underpins its aggressive expansion strategy. With cash reserves of AUD 32.8 million and zero debt as of October 31, 2024, the company is well-positioned to support global growth. A successful AUD 17 million share placement has further strengthened its financial position, ensuring the necessary resources for regulatory and market development initiatives.

The company is gearing up for the launch of Remplir™ in the US. Submission of the 510(k) application to the US FDA is planned for late 2024, with regulatory approval expected in early 2025. The US nerve repair market, valued at USD 1.6 billion annually, offers substantial revenue potential.

Global Reach and Governance

Orthocell has secured regulatory approvals for Remplir™ in markets including Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, with plans to expand into Canada, Thailand, Europe, and the UK in 2025. A dedicated manufacturing facility in Western Australia ensures high-quality production, allowing for cost-effective scaling as new markets are entered.

The company also reported year-on-year revenue growth of 14% for Striate+™ to AUD 3.41 million, driven by adoption in the US, Europe, and Australia. Orthocell's partnership with BioHorizons has bolstered international reach, accelerating market penetration.

Strategic Governance Initiatives

Orthocell has undertaken significant governance reforms, including board renewal and the implementation of governance policies aligned with its vision for growth. The addition of experienced directors and an independent review of executive remuneration ensures the company is well-prepared for expansion into transformative markets like the US.

Orthocell remains focused on advancing its global footprint while maintaining strong financial health and delivering innovative solutions in regenerative medicine.
