Share price of ASX-listed biotechnology company, CSL Limited (ASX:CSL) has opened in red today (7 September) despite no price-sensitive news shared by the company. It seems like CSL is following the price movement of the broader benchmark index, ASX 200 (INDEXASX:XJO), which has fallen by 1.13% to 6,749.70 points (at 10:41 AM AEST).
At 10:20 AM AEST, CSL shares were spotted trading 0.31% down at AU$293.13 per share with the market capitalisation of AU$141.74 billion.

Financial results of CSL
CSL posted a 3% rise in its total income over the previous year to US$10,562 million. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation & amortisation (EBITDA) declined by 5% to US$3,596 million. Net profit after tax dipped by 6% to US$2,255 million.
Looking at the company's cash flow statement, cash and cash equivalent at the end of FY22 were US$10,334.4 million, increased from US$1,730.1 million in FY21. The company have enough cash to full fill its liabilities, which stood at US$7,108 million (as of 30 June 2022).
Despite reporting a fall in EBITDA and net profit after tax, the company had sustained its full-year dividend of AU$2.22 apiece. The expected payment date is 5 October 2022.
Worth mentioning here is that, yesterday, CSL had gone ex-dividend on its final dividend; still, the shares were trading in green during the early trading hours. Generally, on the ex-dividend date, the share price falls because on and after that date, the new shareholders will not be eligible to get dividend payments.
