4DMedical Limited (ASX:4DX), a leading innovator in respiratory imaging and analysis, has announced a significant commercial contract with Imaging Partners of Orange County (IPOC) in the United States. This marks a pivotal step for 4DMedical, being the company’s first commercial agreement with an independent radiology provider since Medicare reimbursement was granted for its CT LVAS™ technology.
Contract Overview
The contract, which runs through March 31, 2026, will see IPOC use 4DMedical’s advanced imaging technologies, including CT LVAS™ (Lung Ventilation Analysis Scanning) and LDAf (Lung Density Analysis), to provide detailed lung scans. IPOC will be charged on a subscription basis per patient, with quarterly billing.
Strategic Importance
IPOC, with 15 radiologists across five sites in Orange County, a region known for its advanced healthcare and medical innovation, will use 4DMedical’s technology to assist in diagnosing and assessing respiratory diseases. The contract represents an important milestone as it opens up further opportunities for widespread adoption of 4DMedical’s lung imaging technology in the United States.
The partnership follows the success of a recent webinar co-hosted by the California Thoracic Society, which generated strong interest from clinicians in advanced CT-based imaging to improve diagnosis of unexplained dyspnoea (breathing difficulty) and other respiratory conditions.
Technological Advancements
4DMedical’s CT LVAS™ provides detailed insights into lung function and airflow, enhancing the diagnostic process for respiratory diseases compared to traditional methods. The addition of LDAf further allows physicians to assess lung structure, aiding in the management of obstructive lung diseases like COPD and asthma.
Following the announcement of this new contract, 4DMedical’s share price saw a 3.3% increase, highlighting positive market sentiment surrounding this significant expansion into the U.S. healthcare market.
