Description:

4DMedical (ASX:4DX) has recently been awarded a contract with Imaging Partners of Orange County (IPOC), a US-based radiology provider, to supply computed tomography (CT) scans for lung ventilation (LVAS) and lung density (LDAf) analysis. The contract, effective until March 2026, reflects the company’s growing success in commercializing its advanced lung imaging technology. Under the agreement, IPOC will access 4DMedical’s scan analysis services on a subscription basis per patient, billed quarterly.

This agreement marks a significant milestone as 4DMedical’s first commercial deal with an independent radiology provider since the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) began reimbursing LVAS scans. The partnership underscores the increasing recognition of 4DMedical’s innovative technologies for diagnosing respiratory conditions. According to 4DMedical’s managing director and founder, Andreas Fouras, this contract demonstrates the appeal of their combined structural and functional lung analysis tools in the US market. The company has been seeing growing interest, particularly among pulmonologists, following recent educational initiatives such as those with the California Thoracic Society.

4DMedical’s CT-based LVAS technology provides detailed analysis of lung ventilation and airflow, aiding clinicians in diagnosing respiratory diseases more accurately than traditional methods. The addition of LDAf, which quantifies lung structure, further enhances diagnostic capabilities, particularly in identifying and managing obstructive lung diseases. These advancements help to address the growing need for improved diagnostic tools for conditions such as unexplained dyspnoea and other respiratory ailments.

The IPOC contract follows a recent three-year deal with UC San Diego (UCSD) Health, one of the top hospitals in the US for respiratory care. This collaboration reflects the rising demand for 4DMedical’s lung imaging solutions and highlights the company’s increasing influence in the US healthcare system.
