Fresh Select is wary of continuing environmental challenges. To ensure that it remains environmental to the core, the Company is committed to using new farming technologies, developing sustainable farming techniques and educating its growers on crucial details like soil health and infield packaging.
The Company is at the frontline of farming innovation. Examples of the same are the acts of eliminating polystyrene from the supply chain and employing ‘good’ insects to control the population of bad ones.
Emphasis on Best Quality
The Company’s thorough Quality Assurance program commences right after its crops hit the soil and is a vital activity right till the line when the final produce reaches the customer.
This translates to the fact that Fresh Select’s state-of-the-art quality system keeps an eye on produce movement right from planting and pre-harvest to loading and delivery. Once the produce passes each of the checks, it reaches the customer.
So, how does the Company ensure best quality?
Fresh Select’s internal Quality Assurance Manager, working with local and interstate growers closely, has more than two decades worth of experience. Other personnel have qualifications in agricultural science, food technology, SQF and HACCP.
The efficient team is known to carry out strict quality checks at all stages of production.
Fresh Select uses cold supply chain management to ensure freshness and consistent, premium quality produce, which is hand selected for consistent size, appearance and quality. And then, it is picked and packed in the field, adhering to strict quality specifications.

As deciphered, the Company believes that there is much more to growing its vegetables than merely planting a seed, watering it and waiting for the final produce. An onsite agronomist vigilantly begins the process long before a seed is planted, to ensure optimum crop production.
Where Does Fresh Select Grow its Quality Produce?
To ensure consistent supply all year round, the Company’s produce is grown at three locations in Australia that possess noteworthy farming reputation- Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.
Victoria
The soils of Werribee South and across town in Bairnsdale along with the cooler summer climate are capitalised in this region. Moreover, the location is merely 30 kms from the Melbourne distribution centre and transport docks.
Queensland
The region is one of the country’s richest farming zones and has been tapped well by the Company. Gatton in particular is favoured by top chefs and food enthusiasts for its quality local produce. Besides this, the top-grade agricultural land in Toowoomba grows premium produce across the year.
South Australia
In this region, the Company grows crops in the Adelaide Hills around Mount Barker, which is a mild climate area rich in farming tradition.
Casting Eye on Fresh Select’s Delivery Process
The Company’s supply chain solution aims to maximise efficiency, quality and freshness.
It uses approved HACCP accredited transport companies only to ensure that its produce remains fresh throughout their journey to consumers.
Food grade vehicles embedded with the latest refrigeration technology and a complete GPS tracking to monitor the speed of delivery and control the temperature are used for delivery purposes.
The produce is loaded into optimum temperature transport from the refrigerated storage facility before it is on its way to distribution centres across Australia and beyond.
