Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) saw its share price surge 100% during the morning trading session on 23 February 2026, rising to AUD 0.002 per share. The sharp move followed the company’s announcement of the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer.
Dr Andrew Whitehead Appointed Chief Executive Officer
SRN has appointed Dr Andrew Whitehead as its Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
He has more than 15 years of experience across ASX-listed and private resource companies, with exposure to iron ore, gold and critical minerals. His executive background spans governance, joint ventures, commercial strategy, capital management support and stakeholder engagement across large-scale development projects.
He holds a PhD in International Business from Flinders University, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance & Investment, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Company Directors Course.
Managing Director Paul Burton Resigns
The company also advised that Managing Director Paul Burton has tendered his resignation, effective Friday, 20 February.
