Highlights
- In April 2025, King River Resources completed a 13-hole, 940m RC drilling program at its Kurundi Main prospect.
- The drilling campaign targeted extensions of high-grade gold zones and newly identified structural trends; assay results are pending.
- KRR has acquired tenement EL32116 from Woodleigh Nominees Pty Ltd.
- The tenement transfer is in progress, with initial reconnaissance work planned over high-priority gold targets.
- Further drilling will focus on high-priority IOCG geophysical targets Kuiper 1 and Kuiper 2.
King River Resources Ltd (ASX:KRR) has released an update outlining its ongoing and upcoming exploration activities for 2025. The company is actively progressing exploration activities at its Kurundi project, expanding its tenement holdings and preparing for drilling high-priority geophysical targets.
Kurundi RC Drilling Program Completed
In April 2025, the company completed a reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at its Kurundi Main prospect, targeting the extension of two high-grade gold zones and followed up on a newly identified structure featuring underground historical workings discovered in late 2024.
The drilling program covered 13 RC drill holes for 940m across three key target areas:
- Five holes were drilled below the main Kurundi zone, building on 2024 drill results that intersected gold mineralisation, robust structural features, and veining.
- Four holes targeted the southern high-grade zone, following up on the 2024 discovery of a new high-grade structure with massive sulphides (hole TTRC098).
- Four holes focused on the northeastern structural trend.
Initial observations from the drilling confirmed structural and veining features, in line with the company’s expectations. Assay results are pending.
Tenement Acquisition: EL32116
KRR has acquired tenement EL32116 from Woodleigh Nominees Pty Ltd, expanding its exploration footprint adjacent to EL32200.

The company has signed the necessary transfer documents for EL32116, which are currently being processed by the Northern Territory Titles Department. Initial reconnaissance work is planned to assess high-priority gold targets within the newly acquired area.
Upcoming Exploration and Drilling Plans
KRR has already completed drilling at the Providence, Langrenus, Commitment, and Kurundi Regional targets as well as three phases at Kurundi Main.
The company will now shift its focus to high priority IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper-Gold) geophysical targets, specifically Kuiper 1 and 2, discovered during a geophysical programme in 2023.
Further drill targets are expected to emerge as KRR continues to interpret geophysical and 2024 assay data.
Ionic leach soil sampling, a specialised method for identifying concealed targets, has already been completed over Kuiper 1 and 2, with assay results awaited.
Additional targets under review include:
- Rover East (BIF Hill East, Anomaly 5, and Explorer 42)
- Pioneer Project (Areas 1 and 2)
- EL31623 magnetic anomaly
- Barkly magnetic/VTEM targets
KRR shares were trading at AUD 0.009 per share at the time of writing on 9 May 2025.
