Pivotal Metals confirms extended mineralisation at Horden Lake through step-out drilling
Electromagnetic surveys reinforce confidence in exploration targets
Deepest intersections report highest copper-equivalent grades at the Québec-based site
Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT), a critical mineral explorer listed on the ASX 300, has advanced drilling activity at its Horden Lake asset in Québec, Canada, with new results confirming extensions to existing mineralisation. The company is progressing exploration across a site prospective for copper, nickel, gold, platinum group elements, and cobalt.
The Horden Lake deposit, located in the James Bay Region, continues to deliver intercepts that reinforce geological continuity beyond historically defined areas.
Step-Out Drilling Highlights Deeper Mineral Zones
Recent drill results have extended the known strike of the deposit, with wider intercepts and stronger grades recorded at depth. The company noted that the mineralisation remains open, with higher copper-equivalent content observed in deeper zones. These findings build on a historic foundation of shallow drilling, now supplemented by modern high-powered methods.
The continuity and scale observed are expected to feed into upcoming resource modelling and support potential additions to the existing pit-constrained resource.
EM Technology Aids in Uncovering Untapped Anomalies
The latest drilling campaign also validates the use of electromagnetic (EM) geophysics as an effective targeting tool. The company's managing director highlighted that several EM anomalies near the main deposit had remained untested until now due to the absence of high-resolution geophysical technology in past exploration phases.
One of the newly drilled EM targets, despite its proximity to the existing resource, had previously been overlooked. The early success in this area underscores the growing importance of advanced geophysical interpretation in directing future drilling strategies.
Horden Lake Positioned for Multi-Metal Resource Development
Situated north-northwest of Matagami, Horden Lake is part of a broader resource corridor known for its polymetallic potential. Pivotal Metals’ exploration focus aligns with Canada's critical minerals strategy and global demand dynamics for battery and electrification metals.
With further assays pending and additional anomalies to be tested, the company continues to prioritise scalable discoveries within reach of existing infrastructure. The project’s geological attributes and geophysical responses collectively point toward sustained exploration momentum.
