Australia based lithium producer, Altura Mining Limited (ASX:AJM) announced the haulage of its first production of lithium spodumene concentrate from its wholly owned Altura Lithium project located at Pilgangoora to Port Hedland. The first lithium production of Altura’s hard rock open pit lithium mine was announced on July 25, 2018, following to which the company reported the commencement of its 2018 first shipment to Port Hedland, on August 08, 2018.
The shipment of the product from Altura’s mine to port will be taken care by Qube Logistics. It has storage facility in Wedgefield, Port Hedland having the capacity of 40,000 tonnes out of which Altura holds the rights for 30,000 tonnes. In pursuance to logistics tie-up with Altura, Qube has started hauling the product which is first being stockpiled at its storage facility.
The company is fully focused on the ramp-up so that the project operates at its optimum level, stated Altura’s Managing Director, James Brown.
As per the announcement, Qube will manage the transportation of circa 18,000 tonnes per month from Altura’s mine to Port Hedland through a combined fleet of single and double road trains.
The company also indicated its presence at the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) Western Australian Investor Briefing reported to be held on Saturday 25 August 2018 in Perth. AJM’s share moved up 0.74% to $0.272 on August 08, 2018, before market close.
