A Flick Through K2fly’s Proprietary Software, Infoscope Land Management System

Western Australia-based, K2fly Limited (ASX: K2F) is a technology company and consulting systems integrator which is focussed on driving digital transformation and process improvement, serving clients worldwide. It mainly caters to the asset-intensive industries comprising Rail, Gas, Water, Mining, Electricity, and Facilities Management.

K2fly provides various Software as a Service (SaaS) based solutions, tailor-made for the personalised requirements of individual businesses. These are broadly categorised as Data Collaboration & Visualisation and Mobility Solutions. Under the Data Collaboration & Visualisation category, K2fly offers the Infoscope Land Management System, a land management and stakeholder relations software solution for the resources and energy market.

Infoscope acquisition

Queensland-based software company, Infoscope had been known as an established and successful business that owns and operates a leading-edge data collaboration platform. K2fly acquired it in 2017. Since then, the two groups have merged seamlessly with minimal transition cost. In October 2017, K2fly joined the SAP Partner Edge Program to port the Infoscope technology. Subsequently, the software was ported to the prestigious SAP Cloud Platform and their HANA database within six months. The solution was made available to the SAP salesforce and customers on the SAP App Center in June 2018.

It represented a highly complementary, synergistic and value accretive acquisition for K2fly. In addition, Infoscope had delivered revenue of ~ $ 1.5 million for the year ended 30 June 2017 and an EBIT of approximately $ 400,000. Infoscope’s client base includes major corporates such as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX: FMG), The National Trust, APIM and Westgold Resources (ASX: WGX).

Infoscope software

Infoscope is a data collaboration platform that specialises in the connection of disparate data sources and collates different layers of information to construct a visually presentable data store that is easily configured and accessible. The software was initially developed to tackle a pressing corporate problem – information silos and eliminate the boundaries found in traditional systems by optimising every piece of information.

The Infoscope Land Management significantly reduces operational risk whilst improving efficiency by enabling project operators to gather and share critical information with all stakeholders, including regulators. The solution is directly applicable to the resources, infrastructure, utilities, environment & biodiversity, and cultural heritage sectors. It supports the growing desire of large-scale organisations to demonstrate their ‘Social Licence to Operate’ in the environments key to their business operations.

Strategic Collaborations

K2fly has signed significant contracts for Infoscope licenses and implementations, which demonstrates growing market acceptance for the solution.

K2fly’s first new license contract for Infoscope was signed (and delivered) in October 2017 with API Management, which manages the assets owned by the Australian Premium Iron Joint Venture and the Red Hill Joint Venture.

On 10 May 2019, K2fly executed a Reseller Agreement whereby Esri Australia Pty Ltd will distribute the Infoscope application. Esri Australia is the leading provider to Australia’s spatial industry.

Earlier in March 2019 quarter, the company signed two other Infoscope software license contracts with WA based Panoramic Resources Limited (ASX: PAN) and with mining services provider, Mineral Resources Limited (ASX: MIN).

In addition, K2F recently signed a binding agreement (HOA) to acquire (subject to terms and conditions) South Africa-based Prodmark Pty Ltd and its assets related to the RCubed Resources and Reserve Reporting software.
