The NZX 50 Gained 15.48 Points on Friday, Mainly Due to the Rise in Healthcare and Communications Services Stocks

On 23rd July 2021, the broader NZ market was supported by the significant buying in the Healthcare and  Communications Services stocks. However, selling pressure in Consumer Staples stoks somewhat restricted the gains. Notably, NZX 50 Index rose by 0.12% to 12,736.32 and NZX 20 Index increased by 0.14% to 8,082.08. NZX All Healthcare rose by 1.46% while NZX All Consumer Staples fell by 1.43%.

Performance of Indices:

NZX 50 Index ended at 12,736.32, which implies ~8.92% increase over the previous 1 year. Also, MidCap Index and SmallCap Index claimed 6,364.56 and 22,612.20 points, respectively.

Gainers and Losers:

In the release dated 19th July 2021, Chatham Rock Phosphate Limited (NZX: CRP) made an announcement that it has closed the non-brokered private placement of 3,173,435 units at the price of CA$0.11 (or NZ$0.12) per unit for the gross proceeds amounting to CA$349,077.85 (or NZ$380,812.20).

On 23rd July 2021, NZME Limited (NZX: NZM) rose by 5.21% to $1.010.

On 22nd July 2021, NASDAQ Composite increased 0.36% to 14,684.60. Dow Jones Industrials Average rose by 0.07% to 34,823.35.
