Decline in Broader Market Primarily Led by Communications Services and Energy Stocks

On 5th August 2021, the broader NZ market was impacted by the selling pressure witnessed in the Communications Services, Energy, IT stocks, among others. Notably, NZX 50 Index fell by 0.34% to 12,754.33 and NZX 20 Index declined by 0.35% to 8,116.01. NZX All Communications Services fell by 1.48%.

Gainers and Losers:

In the release dated 4th August 2021, DGL Group Limited (NZX: DGC) made an announcement about the strategic acquisition of Opal Australasia for the consideration amounting to $8.6 Mn.

ArborGen Holdings Limited (NZX: ARB) rose by 6.56% to $0.325 per share.

Movement on Wall Street:

On 4th August 2021, NASDAQ Composite rose by 0.13% to 14,780.53. Notably, Dow Jones Industrials Average fell by 0.92% to 34,792.67.
