Broader NZ Market Indices Closed with Marginal Gains

On 27th August 2021, the broader NZ market witnessed a marginal rise as gains in Information Technology stocks, amongh others, were capped by the selling pressure in Materials as well as Consumer Staples stocks, among others. Notably, NZX 50 Index rose by 0.06% to 13,059.79 and NZX 20 increased by 0.10% to 8,291.51. NZX All Materials declined by 2.71%.

Performance of Indices:

NZX 50 Index ended at 13,059.79, reflecting ~8.35% increase in the past 1 year. Also, MidCap Index and SmallCap Index ended at 6,663.50 and 22,632.67 points, respectively.

Gainers and Losers:

In the release dated 27th August 2021, Vista Group International Limited (NZX: VGL) posted interim results for the period ended 30th June 2021 and the company witnessed robust financial performance amidst the recovery in the broader industry as well as the free flow of movies into the cinemas globally.

Savor Limited (NZX: SVR) rose by 5.26% to NZ$0.500 per share.

Movement on Wall Street:

On 26th August 2021, NASDAQ Composite fell 0.64% to 14,945.81. Notably, Dow Jones Industrials Average declined 0.54% to 35,213.12.
