As per the Stats NZ, prices paid to meat manufacturers and beef and sheep farmers during the March 2020 quarter declined harshly.
Reversing the rises over most of 2019, sheep, beef, and grain farmers have received 11.5 per cent less for their products in March 2020 quarter. Prices paid to meat manufacturers fell by 4.4 per cent during the quarter.
Business prices acting manager Geoffrey Wong has said, fall in prices for these farmers coincided with dry conditions in NZ in the first three months of 2020.
