Mako Mining Corp develops, mines, and explores gold.

The mining firm is presently focused on developing and increasing the production at its San Albino project. It also intends to double the production capacity through near mine-exploration by 2022.

Mako Mining also aims to build one of the highest-grade open pit 500 tons per day (tpd) mine.

The gold producer claims to leverage the experience of its team in the development and building of three gold mines in Latin America.

San Albino project is located in Nueva Segovia in Nicaragua around 173 km away from Managua and is accessible via highway. The mining firm says that the project is unique since the gold grades which are usually associated with high-cost underground mining can be achieved through low-cost open-pit mining at this project.

The measured and indicated resources on the current high-grade gold mineralization project amounts to 95.4koz @ 9.54 g/t gold, while inferred mineral resources are 62.0koz @ 8.50 g/t gold.

On December 12, 2019, the firm announced results from metallurgical test at the San Albino mine.

The firm says that Nicaragua is a mining district with a history of 25-year exploration and exploitation concessions.

Mako’s concessions are located in Nueva Segovia, which has availability of skilled labor resource and is reportedly safe mining jurisdiction.

The area has a modern infrastructure in the form of paved roads, water supply and power.

The mining firm under different exploration activities have identified at least seven highly mineralized zones within the Las Conchitas area located immediately south of San Albino Gold deposit.

The company’s sustainability initiatives include various environmental, health and safety measures for employees and workers, social programs for the communities it works within and biodiversity protection programs.

The exploration company claims to have planted around 9,000 trees along with 1,500 trees bi-monthly at the San Albino Tree nursery.
