Jaguar Mining Inc is a development and exploration company that owns and operates gold properties in Brazil.
The stocks are traded and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange with ‘JAG’ as ticker. In addition to TSX, the mining company trades on the OTCQX Market with 'JAGGF' stock quote.
The portfolio of mining assets consists of the three principal projects:
Turmalina Gold Mine Complex: The complex consists of an underground mine and a processing mill.
Caeté Complex: Includes two gold mines, Roça Grande and Pilar mines.
Paciência Mine: It is located in Belo Horizonte in Brazil.
The company’s three premier gold assets are located in Brazil’s Iron Quadrangle belt.
The Iron Quadrangle
It is a prolific greenstone belt with a history of significant exploration activities in the Belo Horizonte area. Between 1699-1701, black gold tarnished with iron and platinum-group metals were discovered at the site, Jaguar Mining Inc claims. In addition, it says that due to such discovery, a new black gold town Ouro Preto emerged in the region.
The greenstone belt reportedly consists of multi-million gold deposits such as Sao Bento, Cuiaba and Morro Velho, covering 25,872 hectares of area.
The mineral exploration company with 25,872 hectares under its operations claims to have the second-largest gold land position in the Brazilian greenstone belt area.
Turmalina Gold Mine
Turmalina Mining Complex is an underground mine situated in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Turmalina deposits lie in the Iron Quadrangle’s western part, which was earlier a central area for Brazilian hard rock gold mining operations. The property is located in the Pitangui area and represents characteristics of Archaean and Proterozoic age rocks.
The complex uses sub-level stoping mining with paste fill and rockfill methods. The Canadian company claims that gold mineralization at the property consists of sulfides, arsenopyrite, quartz, and micas gold particles.
Caeté Mining Complex
It is located in Minas, Brazil, approximately 50 kilometers to the Belo Horizonte’ east. The mining method consist of a mechanized cut, sub-level stope mining and fill methods. The mining complex hosts two underground mines– the Roça Grande Mine and the Pilar Mine.
The extracted ore from the mining complex is first shipped to a processing plant near the Roça Grande mine and later transported to the Caeté plant.
The company says that the Roça Grande mine has been under maintenance and care since 2018.
Paciência Gold Mine
The Paciência mining complex is situated southwest of Belo Horizonte, a mining capital in Brazil. However, the gold property is under care and maintenance since 2012.
