In 2019, Brookfield Business Partners acquired a controlling stake in Oaktree, a global alternative asset management company, to provide alternative investment products.
In 2020, Enercare, a residential distribution energy business of Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P., launched its first green bond to assist the supply of new electricity sub-metering units across Canada and the United States.
The sub-metering units reportedly lead to a 30 to 40 per cent reduction in energy consumption.
