The firm also operates under the midstream services and utility segment across Canada. The company acquires utilities and energy infrastructure to gather, store and provide clean and affordable natural gas to 1.6 million industries, residential, commercial, and business organizations reportedly.
AltaGas claims to own an extraction processing facility with 1.5 Bcf/d capacity and 0.7 Bcf/d capacity for processing raw field gas.
The midstream division invests in the proposed Constitution Pipeline and Mountain Valley Pipeline, the firm claims.
AltaGas’ utility facilities are located in Virginia, District of Columbia, Michigan, Alaska and Maryland. The utility assets are delivered by various companies, including ENSTAR Natural Gas Company, SEMCO, WGL (Washington Gas).
The Calgary-based firm was founded in 1994 as an oil and gas company.

The company is also exploring Alton Natural Gas Storage, which is presently under construction, it claims. The energy infrastructure firm says that the facility would consists of a natural gas pipeline to connect to the North American natural gas supply network.
