V F Corp is an American firm that deals in footwear, lifestyle, apparels, etc.

Founder John Barbey along with others set up the firm in October 1899. Initially, it was known as ‘The Reading Glove and Mitten Manufacturing Company’.

In 1910, the firm was rebranded as Vanity Fair Silk Mills, Inc.

In 1960s, the US-based firm acquired HD Lee Company, which is now popular as Lee® brand. The company was subsequently rebranded to VF Corporation.

The apparel manufacturer is domiciled in Colorado. Through a wide portfolio of brands, the company provides sportswear, clothes, footwear, packs, occupational apparel, etc. It claims to operate approximately 1,374 retail stores and 29 distribution centers.

Other brands under the company’s banner include: Altra, Dickies, EagleCreek, Eastpak, Jansport, Kipling, Napapijri, Smartwool, Supreme, Timberland, and Vans.

The products of VF are marketed to consumer shopping traditional department stores, specialty stores, upscale, mass merchant stores and national retail chains.

The American company acquired Supreme brand and added another brand to its portfolio on December 28, 2020. The streetwear brand markets accessories, apparel, and footwear, which are available internationally through more than 10 stores owned and operated by the company.

In 2021, the company produced or sourced approximately 295 million units from different brands. In addition, the US-based company provides the products through a network of approximately 265 independent contractor manufacturing facilities in 36 countries across the globe.

The American firm claims to provide well-designed, high-quality products that are recyclable in nature. In addition, the apparel manufacturing firm aims to engage in large-scale commercialization its brand-led rental initiatives.

Through The North Face brand, the company provides footwear for women, children, men, and performance-based apparel, outerwear, sportswear, etc.

The American company operates through a team of over 4000 associates. The Icebreaker brand specializes in performance apparel and accessories based on natural fibers, including merino wool and other plant-based fibers.

By 2030, the US-based company aims to reduce GHGs emissions by 55 per cent.
