Berkshire Hathaway Reinsurance Group

The firm offers and manages reinsurance of the companies that experience losses and exceeds a specific limit, quota-share reinsurance, and facultative reinsurance globally through this unit.

Berkshire Hathaway Primary Group

The segment focuses on providing various insurance coverages, including property and casualty insurances across the United States. The group comprises a platform of independently insurance management firms.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Segment

The firm provides its service in railroad transportation management systems across North America. The Texas-based company moves various products and commodities across Western, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, Southeastern and Southwestern regions and ports of the United States.

Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company

The holding company owns a 91.1 per cent stake in the global energy firm: Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company. The company, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in the energy sector and deals in the distribution of electricity, gas and utility, power generation, etc.

McLane Company

McLane provides wholesale distribution services to wholesale clubs, discount retailers, drug stores, convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, military bases, casual dining restaurants, etc.

Manufacturing Segment

The Nebraska-based company operates through numerous manufacturing companies, grouped into industrial products, consumer products, and building products. The company owns over 20 diversified companies under the segment.
