Founded in 2007, Chaarat Gold Holdings Ltd is a holding, management and finance company that is engaged in the exploration for gold which owns the Kapan operating mine in Armenia as well as the Tulkubash and the Kyzyltash Gold Projects in the Kyrgyz Republic. In early 2019, the company acquired the Kapan Mine and Processing Company from Polymetal and since 2003, it is producing Copper and Zinc concentrates from its underground mine. It is actively pursuing expansion through organic growth and selective M&A. The company aims to be Biodiversify positive, accrue funds for post closure activities to restore the territory of the exploited mines to natural conditions and invests in tangible biodiversity conservation projects. The company’s is listed on the Alternative investment market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange as LON: CGH.
The company’s projects are located in Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. In Kyrgyzstan the company’s projects include Tulkubash and Kyzyltash. Tulkubash is an open pit oxide gold heap leach project, under 1st stage of development using a simple and low cost processing method. It has a JORC compliant proven and probable reserve with an estimated mine life of five years with further exploration potential that should see mine life extended for several more years. The Kyzyltash sulphide ore project that is under the 2nd stage of development, with potential to produce up to 300,000 ounces of gold per annum with low operating cash costs.
In Armenia, the company operates through Kapan Mining and Processing Company (Kapan) which was acquired in early 2019. The project is an underground narrow vein polymetallic mine, producing copper and zinc concentrates containing high levels of gold and silver, with estimated mine life of seven years and resources sufficient for over 10 years.
