Synlait Milk Limited (NZX: SML) announced an equity raising of about $180 million via an underwritten placement at a fixed price of $5.10 per share and $20 million via an underwritten share purchase plan.

* NZ Shares and NZ Dollar Surge Amid Vaccine Expectations After reports overnight that a Covid-19 vaccine had been produced, lifted consumer sentiment across the world, the New Zealand dollar moved on to a 20-month peak and the local equity prices surged to new highs. The benchmark S&P/NZX50 index rose 0.68% to 12,647 points on 10 November while the Kiwi dollar traded at US68.23 cents, up by 0.1% from the previous close, at the time of writing.

* ZEL Reports Double-Digit Decline in Volumes In October, Z Energy Limited (NZX: ZEL) reported a volume decline of 16% versus 2019 PCP mainly due to a decline in Jet volumes by 78.5% versus PCP. Against September, the total volume was up by 9.3%.
