NZD 13 Million Funding for a Resilient Rail Connection to the West Coast

Government has stated that an NZD 13 million investment shall create employment and advance the flexibility of the rail connection between Christchurch and the West Coast.

The funding is a part of the announcement made during Budget 2020 for infrastructure projects which allocated NZD 90 million to the West Coast.

As per Infrastructure Minister Shane Jones, it is a critical regional infrastructure project to make transport connections of the region more resilient and reliable.
