Commerce Commission Approves Major Capex Proposal from Transpower

The Commerce Commission has approved a major capital expenditure offer from Transpower New Zealand Limited. If settled, the decision would permit the company to invest and boost its revenue to recover a maximum of $154 million on grid assets and equipment to operate voltage stability in the Upper North Island and Waikato region.

If the Commission eventually decides to grant the proposal, the expected growth in transmission revenue from the company producing the first stage of the project will be about 1%.
