The e-commerce giant is building a "humanoid park" - an indoor obstacle course - at one of its offices in San Francisco to test the robots. It is planning to test a variety of humanoid robots, including one from China-based Unitree. Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]) aims to enable the robots to hitch a ride in the back of its Rivian (RIVN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/RIVN]) delivery vans and "spring out" to deliver packages. There is currently one such van in the park for testing, according to the report. To note, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]) already has more than 750,000 robots across its network, but these are deployed in its fulfillment centers, which are closed environments. The report [https://www.theinformation.com/articles/amazon-prepares-test-humanoid-robots-delivering-packages] comes as Amazon (AMZN [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AMZN]) launched a new agentic AI team at its Lab126 R&D hub in Sunnyvale. The team will work on an agentic AI framework for robots operating in Amazon's distribution and logistics hubs. "We're creating systems that can hear, understand, and act on natural language commands, turning warehouse robots into flexible, multi-talented assistants," the company told [https://www.siliconvalley.com/2025/06/04/amazon-tech-ai-sunnyvale-south-bay-economy-jobs-deliver-commerce-work/] _Silicon Valley_.
