The Bank of England (BoE) on Thursday, 4 February, maintained the key interest rates at 0.1 per cent for the seventh time in a row after the central bank slashed the rates in an exceptional policy review in March 2020. The BoE Governor Andrew Bailey-led Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting fixed the policy target to achieve an inflation figure of 2 per cent, maintaining an “appropriate” stance of the policy.
