UK-based Smithson Investment Trust Plc was established as an investment trust by its investment manager Fundsmith LLP. The company’s goal is to invest in the diversified range of small and mid-sized companies with market capitalisation between £500 million to £15 billion and are globally listed or traded and can create high and long-term value for its investors and shareholders.

The company invests in various sectors such as consumer staple, healthcare, industrials, informational technology, financials, and others. Smithson is an alternative investment fund under the European Union’s alternative investment fund managers. And Fundsmith LLP is its alternative investment fund manager. Smithson has no employees or directors. All its activities and operations are managed by third party service provider with their non- executive directors.

Fundsmith was established by Terry Smith in 2010 and it is based in London with an office in US. Fundsmith is owned and operated by its partners with the motive to deliver superior returns and performance to its shareholders at low risk and reasonable cost. The company continuously seeks for opportunities which can produce a portfolio of resilient businesses with high potential in long term. Fundsmith was established with the aim to differentiate itself from its competitors to achieve different results.
