Founded in 1870s, M.P. Evans Group Plc is a UK-based producer of crude palm oil with plantations in Indonesian Provinces. The company’s oil-palm plantations are located in Indonesian and have an investment in a property company in Malaysia. It aims to maintain steady expansion of its majority-owned Indonesian palm-oil estates in cost-effective and sustainable manner, to deliver high return to its shareholders. The company’s oil palm plantation land covers 39,100 hectares and around 12,500 hectares land is smallholder oil palm land. The company maintains relationship with local communities living on and near its operations and manages superlative smallholder schemes on their behalf.  The company’s market includes Indonesia, India, China, Other Asia, Africa and European Union. The company’s shares are listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange as LON: MPE.

The company operates through two main segments that include Indonesia Palm Oil and Malaysia Property. The company’s plantations are spread across five Indonesian provinces that include South Sumatra, Bangka-Belitung, North Sumatra, Aceh and East Kalimantan. All the plantations are held on long-term renewable leases as all the agriculture land in Indonesia is owned by the government.  The company holds interest in Bertam Properties Sdn Berhad, a property-development company. However, in 2020 the company sold its 70 hectare Bertam Estate to Bertam properties, its associated property development company.
