The company has appointed JPMorgan Funds Limited as its Alternative Investment Fund Manager that delegates the management of the company’s portfolio to JPMorgan Asset Management (UK) Limited, which further delegates to JP Morgan Asset Management Inc. the company mainly invest across quoted companies and in small companies when appropriate, with emphasize in capital growth rather than income. It currently has a separate portfolio dedicated to larger capitalization, with between 30-40 stocks representing 90-100% of the company’s equity portfolio, and smaller capitalization companies, with between 100-120 stocks representing between 0-10% of its equity portfolio.
It may also invest in pooled funds to achieve its aims. The company will not invest over 8% of its gross assets in any one individual stock and will limit its five largest investments to 40% of its gross assets. It will not invest over 10% of its gross assets in liquidity funds in normal market conditions and not more than 10% of gross assets will be invested in companies that themselves may invest over 15% of gross assets in listed closed-ended funds. The company may use borrowing to gear the portfolio within the range of 5% net cash to 20% geared in normal market conditions.
