IMI has three segments: Precision Engineering, Critical Engineering, and Hydronic Engineering. The IMI Precision Engineering segment provides motion and fluid control technologies through its brands, such as Norgren, Bimba, Buschjosh, FAS, Herion, Kloehn, Maxseal and Thompson to the industries which needs precision, speed, and reliability. In 2020, due to increase in ventilators’ demand all over the world, it increased its production by 10 times. The main sectors that this segment caters to are industrial automation, commercial vehicle, life sciences, energy, and Rail.

The Critical Engineering segment provides valves and actuator to industries, such as fossil power, oil & gas, petrochemical, nuclear, marine, and pharmaceutical. The services help to control the flow of stream, gas and liquids in extreme temperature and pressure. The Hydronic Engineering segment is the leading hydronic distribution system that provides optimal and energy heating and cooling system to the residential and commercial buildings. The brands associated with this segment are: IMI Pneumatex, IMI TA, IMI Flow Design, IMI Heimeier and IMI Arero-Dynamiek.
