Founded in 1924 as a manufacturer of card clothing, Carclo plc is a UK-based global manufacturer of fine tolerance injection moulded plastic parts for medical, optics, electronics/consumer, control cables for Aerospace and automotive safety sectors. It acquired The English Card Clothing Company in 1979 to establish its world leading position. In 1993, it acquired Authur Lee and Sons plc to expand its wire, wire rope and steel strip operation and entered into technical plastic market. In 1997, the company decided to abandon its non-core wire and steel operations and focused on its technical plastic business, since then it undertook a series of acquisitions to expand its technical plastic business. Its business operates in three different continents across the UK, France, the US, India, China, and the Czech Republic. Its shares are quoted on the London Stock Exchange as LON: CAR.

The divisional aim is to strategically invest in the latest manufacturing equipments to enhance its capacity, ensure its aircraft control operation manufactures high quality products and continuously monitor and improve its quality system.
