OthersCentral Asia Metal is a UK-based diversified business that operates low-cost mineral assets and is engaged in manufacturing of the base metals that are essential for modern living, safely and sustainably for all its stakeholders with its 100% owned Kounrad solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX-EW) copper operations in Kazakhstan and 100% owned Sasa Zinc and lead mines in North Macedonia that is operating since 2017. The group shares are listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange as LON: CAML in 2010. The group has established low-cost and diversified base metals producer with the capacity to generate over 13,500 tonnes copper, 25,000 tonnes Zinc and 32,000 tonnes of Lead.
The group aims to manufacture base metals that are important for modern living and technologically advancing future that can help in delivering high value and return to shareholders and stakeholders, promote low cost, sustainable and ethical production and benefits communities, workforce, government with employment opportunities and other essential services.
The group operates through its two geographical segments that include Kazakhstan and North Macedonia. The group is the only owner and operator of low-cost, solvent extraction-electrowinning (SX-EW) copper plant located in the Kounrad field of Kazakhstan near the city of Balkhash and it exports copper cathode primarily in Turkey. The Kounrad field was acquired in 2007 as a joint venture of 60/40; later the group acquired its 100% interest. Its estimated life of operation is 14 years.
The group fully owns the low-cost Sasa underground zinc, lead and silver mines that was acquired in November 2017 and it is located in Northeastern North Macedonia, approx. 150 km east of the Skopje and 10 km north of Makedonska Kamenica, its products are then supplied to smelters to be processed into metals and its estimated life is 18 years.
The group’s subsidiaries include, Shuak BV, Kounrad Copper Company LLP, CAML MK Limited, Lynx Resources Limited, Lynx Mining Limited, Monresources LLC, CAML Kazakhstan BV, Ken Shuak LLP and Sary Kazna LLP.
