Founded in 1945, Alumase Group Plc is a UK-based supplier of sustainable building products, systems and solutions, the majority of which are used to manage the scarce resources of water and energy. Since 2007 with the acquisition of leading solar shaping firm Levolux, the company expanded its reach by strategically acquired various businesses such as Blackdown Greenroofs in 2008 and Rainclear Systems in 2012. Further in 2018, the company acquired Wade, a producer and supplier of quality drainage products and sold its exterior wall insulation Facades operation. The company sold off its businesses, Alumasc Precision Components in 2015 and Dyson Diecastings in 2016, in a bid to focus more on its core buildings products activities. The company’s shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange as LON: ALU.
The company’s 80% group sales are contributed by building regulations and specifications. The company aims to grow revenue at a faster rate than the UK construction market, to improve its operating margins to increase its profit faster than its revenue to generate superior financial return for shareholders.
The company operates through three core divisions: Water Management, Building Envelope, and Housebuilding products. The Water Management division offers a range of products and systems to monitor water management. The operations are done through its brands such as Alimasc Water Management Solutions, Rainwater, Harmer, Wade, Gatic and Skyline. Its products manage and attenuate water usage inside and outside buildings, including rainwater to drain solutions. Its external supply chain includes suppliers in Europe and North America.
The company operates its Building Envelop operations through brands such as Roof-Pro, Levolux and Alumasc Roofing System. It is engaged in providing solutions for developers and specifiers seeking roofing and walling solutions that include supply of solar shading, balcony & balustrading systems, architectural screening, and others. The Housebuilding division designs and produces housebuilding products and is operated through its Timloc brand.
