Breaking News: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been suspended indefinitely following surging military tensions between India and Pakistan. The decision was confirmed after a mid-game halt in the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala, just 100 km from air raid-hit Pathankot.

What Happened:

• Match suspended mid-way due to security alerts and floodlight failure.

• Stadium evacuated amid anti-Pakistan slogans and panic.

• Foreign players, especially Australians, raise safety concerns and request return.

• BCCI prioritizes national interest and puts the league on hold.

• Airspace lockdown and rerouting of team movements indicate deepening conflict.

• Comes after Operation Sindoor: India’s retaliatory strike on 9 terror camps in Pakistan and PoK.

• Pakistan’s PSL has also shifted to UAE due to similar threats. This marks an unprecedented fusion of geopolitics and cricket, with the IPL—the world’s richest cricket league—paused for the first time due to war risk.
