- The only PPP Sports Infrastructure Venture in India

- 16 different sports and 8 best in class sports academies, all under one roof

- Work of the Multi-Utility Sports Arena is in full swing

- Stadium utilization from 2% to 67%

SE TransStadia Pvt. Ltd is involved in the first of its kind PPP venture for Sports Infrastructure in India. SE TransStadia along with the Gujarat Government have entered a Public-Private Partnership under the Gujarat Infrastructure Act 1999 and Amendment Act, 2006. The Arena spread over 9 acres of land will house a FIFA international standard football pitch while the stadium will have a 20,000 seating capacity, a multi-utility facility which will house 8 academies and can be used for 16 different sports. It will also be home to key facilities like gym, sports medicine, high performance centre and leisure activities. 8 academies include the following disciplines football, basketball, tennis, squash, volleyball, table tennis, swimming and air pistol/ rifle.

This unique PPP arrangement ensures that the Infrastructure built by SE TransStadia is self sufficient. The project will comprise of two crucial parts - the first being the Sports Infrastructure facility which will constitute to 72% of the total built up area of the project. The second component being the Hospitality and other retail and commercial facilities which will help generate revenue to maintain the facility and keep the project viable.

Speaking about the need for Sports Infrastructure in Gujarat, TransStadia's Managing Director, Mr. Udit Sheth said, "It is a great honor to have the Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri. Sarbananda Sonowal amongst us today. It is the encouragement and determination from the key stakeholders that encourage us to take up projects and explore PPP opportunities which are one of its kind. On an average, around 20.5 million students pass out from over 575 Universities across India. A talent pool this size is where the consumption of sports is unparallel. Lack of funding and lack of infrastructure has led to the deterioration of University Sports. We want to provide Sports Infrastructure and promote individuals to take up Sports as a career whether it is playing, participating or coaching.

In another unique partnership with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, TransStadia has started 'The School Fitness Program'. The agenda of this program is to make the academic curriculum more fun by adding a Sports element to it. As a part of the AMC School Fitness Program we have already touched lives of 1700 children and the intention is to scale up in this financial year. The addition of Sports as a subject in the curriculum has not only seen them become physically stronger, but the attendance of students in the schools jumped to 100% on those days. TransStadia is committed to send their certified and trained coaches to the AMC schools to scout for talent which can be groomed and we provide them with the right kind of training, grooming and nutrition.

Speaking in his visit at The Arena by TransStadia, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Sabrananda Sonowal said, "It is important for the State Government, Central Government and the National Sports Federation to work together as a cohesive unit to ensure that India not just participates, but also wins accolades at the highest sporting competitions in the world. It is also a fact that the government alone cannot bring about this change. We need people like Mr. Udit Sheth and his company SE TransStadia to come forward and partner with us to bring about this change. This Arena which is the first of its kind Multi-Utility Sports Infrastructure in the country based on PPP model sets the right tone for things to come and we extend all our support to them."

"As a sports enthusiast, I would love to see a lot of sports infrastructure projects coming up in the near future. I believe the PPP approach is essential in setting up sports infrastructure in India and moving towards sports development. PPP model because of its commercial viability creates a Win-Win situation for the Public, as well as the Private Party." Mr. Udit Sheth added.

Going forward, TransStadia is committed to play catalyst to the changing Sporting Infrastructure of India. With Ahmedabad being the Hub, the intention is to reach out to other districts in the country and replicate what is set to be achieved here in Kankaria. Meanwhile, we will keep our promise of unearthing professional talent across Gujarat, providing training facilities, organizing state and district level competitions to help create a talent pool which can represent India on the International Stage in the near future.
