While speaking at the third edition of 'Cyber Security India 2016', Shri Peeyush Agrawal, Member - Technology, Department of Telecommunications, Govt. of India said that the Government of India is very serious about the cyber security and is taking all the required initiatives in this direction. The third International Summit on Cyber Security India 2016 was organized by Bharat Exhibitions.

The summit revolved around the emerging and continues cyber threat, more so in the changing landscape of internet of things.

Shri Agrawal further said, "The industry needs smart and powerful tools to protect the network which needs to be fully secured. Special protection is required, which the service provider have realized." According to him, it has become very critical for the senior management of the company to focus on this aspect of their business.

Cyberspace touches nearly every part of our daily lives through broadband networks, wireless signals, local networks, and the massive grids that power our nation. Defending against and defeating cyber attacks will require the combined efforts of both the public and private sectors, working to develop new technologies and new approaches, for maintaining real-time protection of their individual networks. With most of the business using open source due to cost implications, the cyber threat not just becomes a reality but lethal for the business.

"Securing Digital India is a national priority, and we at Blackduck believe that we can do our part by eliminating the security vulnerability risks associated with the use of open source. In doing so, we believe the promise of Digital India can be delivered quickly and cost effectively," said Mr. Adam Clay, VP - World Wide Sales, Blackduck Software.

"Since telecom is the backbone of all the critical business, such as banking, telecommunications, defense, transport etc., we as the service provider have to be on a constant alert. Wherever there is a security breach, we have to identify such threats and close that gap by keeping a close watch and proactively work on meeting such security threats," said Mr. Rajesh Rampal, CIO, Aircel.

According to Mr. Shashi Dharan, Managing Director, Bharat Exhibitions, "Security breaches and security governance are two very important areas which needs to be addressed on continues basis as far as cyber security threats are concerned."

"With most of the businesses having moved over to the cloud, they have started depending on the security plugs of the service providers. However, there is a need to secure the individual infrastructure with internet of things coming in to play. We need to become more conscious of protecting data floating over internal infrastructure across various points," said Mr. Vijay Sethi, CIO, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.

Making it truly global platform to conduct business, global majors engaged in the business of cyber security such as; Blackduck Software, F5, Checkpoint had sponsored the event.
